CHEMICAL PROJECT ENGINEER

The Project Engineer is an essential member of our multi-disciplinary engineering teams. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience with ammonia, urea, nitric acid, sulphuric acid, or similar petrochemical processes and have a basic understanding of project management. As a member of the team, you will report to a Senior Project Manager and be involved in the overall design and execution aspects including, process, mechanical, stress, EIC, and civil design.
Job Responsibilities:
- Familiar with steam reforming, Haber-Bosch processes, MDEA treating, and similar processes. 
- Planning, scheduling and conducting specific phases of the work plan. 
- Performing design calculations including hydraulic line sizing, mechanical pipe stress, PSV sizing, equipment sizing for various unit processes, and providing the associated documentation. 
- Validating, justifying, and recommending technical solutions. 
- Identifying and intigrating applicable requirements from other disciplines. 
- Developing and managing drawings with the engineering and drafting teams. 
- Developing and checking Plot Plans, P&ID’s, Piping Plans, and isometric drawings. 
- Liaising effectively with vendors, EPC personnel, technical experts, construction, operations, and maintenance. 
Qualifications:
- Engineer eligible for registration with APEGA. 
- Bachelor of Science in engineering from an accredited Canadian university or equivalent. 
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
- Comprehensive understanding of interdisciplinary engineering deliverables for project execution specific to the energy, transmission pipeline, and petrochemical industries.
