EIC DRAFTER
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
The Intermediate Electrical Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) Drafter role is a full-time role. In this role, the Drafter will assist the Lead Draftsperson with drafting and design tasks for all projects, coordinate with engineers and other professionals to meet project requirements, evaluate drawings, and ensure they adhere to appropriate drafting standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Amendment of mark-ups
Complete and accurate re-drafting of construction and demolition drawings
Creation of basic electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation details
Production of area classifications and panel/junction box layouts
Cleaning of DWG files for return to the client
Assisting project teams with the production of design drawing packages
Participating in field trips, which are typically a few days and less frequently a few weeks, while assisting in gathering information from existing facilities
Working with engineering and drafting team members to aid in quality assurance
Mentoring junior drafters
Qualifications:
Post- secondary design drafting diploma preferred.
A two-year program spanning both design principles and good drafting procedures for relaying of a completed Electrical, instrumentation and control design of a construction package. The program should leave the student with a complete understanding of both AutoCAD and EIC design principles.
Extensive EIC experience with an AutoCAD certificate.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Former EPC experience is an asset.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of drafting experience
