JUNIOR MECH DRAFTER

The Junior Mechanical Drafter role is a full-time role. In this role, the Junior Drafter will assist the Lead Draftsperson with drafting and design tasks for all projects, coordinate with engineers and other professionals to meet project requirements, evaluate drawings, and ensure they adhere to appropriate drafting standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Amendment of mark-ups

    • Complete and accurate re-drafting of indicated P&ID and plot plan mark-ups

    • Creation of basic P&IDs and PFDs

    • Production of plot plans from Piping Designer’s model and survey data

    • Cleaning of DWG files for return to the client

  • As-building

    • As-building of completed projects from QC mark-ups of P&IDs and Plot plans

Qualifications:

  • Post- secondary design drafting diploma preferred.

    • A two-year program spanning both design principles and good drafting procedures for relaying of the mechanical design of a construction package. The program should leave the student with a complete understanding in both AutoCAD and Mechanical design principles.

  • Extensive MECH experience with an AutoCAD certificate.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude.

  • Former EPC experience is an asset.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
